Seven Dials Spotlight Event

Saturday 16th August 2014 – a great day showing off our tech at the Spotlight Event in Seven Dials! The streets were closed off from traffic, the Seven Dials sun dial area was grassed over, there were loads of deck chairs and a stage with live music playing. We were in the information centre, 9 Earlham Street. We were proud to have an Ultimaker 2 3D Printer in pride of place in the window – and at one point there was a queue to have a look at it!

We did a scientific head count for an hour with a clicky thing – 397 people! For most of the 7 hours there was a steady stream of people having a look at the printers, trying out the 3D pens and Oculus Rift virtual reality headset and buying our 3D printed objects and craft gifts.

Seven Dials organisers asked for donations for our Tech Hub in exchange for their goody bags and we raised £237.24

Thanks to everyone who helped out on the day – I don’t know about them but I was exhausted at the end!!
