Wednesday 15th April 2020 – Day Twenty Three
Good morning – I think it is Wednesday, but cannot be sure! I have a really strict routine, which helps me cope with the lockdown, and for the most part it has worked. However on the downside, everyday is the same, so it does not matter if today is Wednesday or Sunday
Do you do anything to make the day different? Perhaps you have a different breakfast or lunch, watch a particular tv show or go to a different shop? Please let me know

From Margaret: Groundhog Day – Harold Ramis’ 1993 classic is actually the perfect antidote to self-isolation – with a warm-hearted message about how best to use our time, even when every day looks exactly the same as the one before.
From Anna: Stan and Ollie – Even if you don’t know much about Laurel and Hardy, this biopic is still a perfectly lovely story about two old friends coming to terms with the fact that they’re a bit past their prime.
From my son: Lord of the Rings Trilogy! Sitting down and watching them back to back would take over 11 hours. A real marathon!!
What can I share with you today – FOOD / SHOPPING
From Alan: Tesco are reserving hundreds of thousands of home delivery slots a week for their most vulnerable customers, who the Government have identified as needing extra help. They’ve already started contacting their customers to let them know they are prioritising home delivery slots for them. As the Government gives us further lists, we will continue to contact these customers.
On top of this, they are expanding our home delivery and Click+Collect capacity. They have already added hundreds of thousands of new slots, and they are recruiting thousands of new colleagues to pick your orders, plus thousands of new drivers to deliver them.
From Rosalind: A shopping tip for those in the Russell Square area – the People’s Supermarket on Lamb’s Conduit St is open and open late. Usually there are only one or two customers; you can easily see into the supermarket from the street. It’s a bit pricey but it has basics, fresh fruit and veg – and good bread
From Dominic: A late addition – the Orange in Pimlico Road Belgravia is open for take away wine and packaged cocktails, and pre-ordered food including Sunday lunch etc.
ART and CULTURE – From Theresa: Artists present exclusive sessions from their homes to yours. Royal Albert Hall will be taking its concerts straight to the living rooms of musicians for a new digital initiative called #RoyalAlbertHome. Tonight at 8pm: ROYAL ALBERT HALL PRESENTS BRASSED OFF. This 1996 bittersweet comedy drama, written and directed by Mark Herman, stars Pete Postlethwaite as Danny, the devoted leader of the Grimley Colliery Band, who is determined to show that ‘we are not defeated’. Ewan McGregor, Stephen Tompkinson and Tara Fitzgerald are stand-outs in an impressive ensemble cast.

INFORMATION – From Alison: I understand a lot of the DH folks like me are using this self isolation to tidy up and de- clutter. I have a homeless mission next door to me that is mighty please I’m tidying up! They are desperate for clean, good condition underwear. Eg. Socks, Vests and Underwear. So if DH folks are tidying please ask them to keep underwear and I’ll collect after this is all over. ;). Or before if they wish as I can walk to the Covent Garden area.
