‘Dragon Hall doesn’t dumb down activities but consistently offers activities that are outside the box…’
Dragon Hall Trust delivers services for the Over 55s from different venues – Dragon Hall, Covent Garden Community Centre @ 7 Dials Club and The Phoenix Garden.
We partner with other organisations to ensure that there is a wide ranging and interesting offer of activities and events for those in our communities who are over 55. Some of our regular activities include:
- Dance – including Tea Dances, classes in line dancing and Flamenco
- Exercise – Yoga, Pilates, Badminton, Tai Chi & Kelle Ball
- Creative – Art Classes, Talks, trips to museums, theatre and galleries
- French conversation, book club, lunch club, Talks and events, trips out & Gardening at Phoenix Garden, online guitar lessons
Dragon Hall users continue to request activities that can support them to lead an active and full life. Traditional activities such as bingo and sing-alongs are replaced by mindfulness, meditation and trips to gardens, galleries, theatre and concerts.
Trips have included going to Buckingham Palace, Kew Gardens, theatres, museums, the seaside and on the canal. All of the activities are either free or at a very reasonable and affordable rate. These services are funded by City Bridge Trust, St Giles United Charity, Mercer’s Trust, The Big Lottery Awards for All and St George and St Giles.
Dragon Hall also offers activities in the evenings and weekends. Going to shows, restaurants, museums and concerts are just some of the events arranged.
‘There is a real community feel at all of the activities provided by Dragon Hall, gives me a reason to get out of the house…’
