Covent Garden Food Bank – reopens as Covent Garden Pantry

Partnership between: Covent Garden Community Centre @ Seven Dials club (Established 1978), Covent Garden Dragon Hall Trust & The Phoenix Garden.

The food bank will open again in a slightly different guise in February 2023.

What is it? Covent Garden Pantry is a community run response to the Cost of Living Crisis and supports local people in need of food and hygiene products, it is not designed to meet long-term need but is an emergency solution to the Cost of Living Crisis. 

Who can use it?
Local people living in Holborn & Covent Garden Ward in LB Camden the Covent Garden side of St James Ward and Soho / West End Ward in Westminster.

We take self-referrals from local people in crisis or from professionals who work for local charities, organisations and health surgeries. You just need to complete a simple online referral form.

If you do not reside in these areas we may be able to assist with an emergency pack depending on donations and circumstances.

When and where? Covent Garden Pantry supplies staple food and hygiene packs by appointment only.  Collection only on Fridays between 11.30am and 3.30pm. Once you have been accepted via the referral form you will be given an appointment time to collect your Pack. We are unable to make deliveries.

What is in a pack?
The Food Staples pack will include some of the following items:

Breakfast cereals, Soup – Tinned / Dried, Pasta / Rice, Pasta Sauce / Other sauces, Tinned Vegetables / Fruit, Beans / Pulses, Tea / coffee, Sugar / Biscuits / Snacks, Tomato Sauce / HP / Mayonnaise, UHT Milk, UHT Juice / Squash

The hygiene pack will contain some of the following items:

Shampoo & Conditioner, Shower Gel, Cleaning Products, Cloths & Sponges, Toilet Roll, Washing Tabs / Powder / Liquid, Anti-bacterial Gel, Moisturiser / Deodorant, Feminine Hygiene – Tampons / Pads’ Shaving Gel / Foam

We may be able to adapt your food parcel to meet your dietary needs, for example, gluten free, halal or vegetarian. This depends on what has been donated and what we have in stock. Please note any requirements on the referral form.

Contents of the packs will vary depending on the supply of donated items.
