Slow Looking Workshop for Style and Society: Dressing the Georgians
Tuesday 3rd October, 14:15
Dragon Hall have been allocated 10 tickets for an exclusive visit to the Queen’s Gallery at Buckingham Palace next week and taking part in a very special mindfulness workshop.
The session explores mindfulness and art, encouraging participants to look differently at the works of art in the Style and Society: Dressing the Georgians exhibition.
After a grounding and mindfulness practice you will explore a number of the works slowly, paying attention to colour and lines and taking a moment to be quiet in our busy lives.
To register your interest (by the 28th September), please use the link below:

ENO Dress Rehearsal of Iolanthe
Tuesday 3rd October, 14.00
I have been allocated 30 tickets for the upcoming English National Opera Dress Rehearsal performance of Gilbert and Sullivan’s Iolanthe on Tuesday 3rd October at 14.00 at the London Coliseum.
Iolanthe is a brilliantly funny fantasy. It’s a topsy-turvy worldview, typical of Gilbert & Sullivan, in which life in the fairy world and Parliament is reversed. Phyllis and Strephon (half-man, half-fairy) wish to marry, but as Phyllis is a ward of court, she requires the Lord Chancellor’s permission. The Lord Chancellor, however, wants her for himself.

Visit The Queen’s Gallery for Holbein at the Tudor Court
Tuesday 5th December, entry 10:00
Hans Holbein was one of the most talented artists of the 16th century. From his arrival in England in search of work he rose to royal favour, chosen to paint the portraits of Henry VIII, his family and leading figures, among them Anne Boleyn and Sir Thomas More. By his death, Holbein’s work was as admired by his contemporaries as it is today. His portraits inspired the next generation of artists in their depictions of Edward VI, Mary I and Elizabeth I.
This exhibition showcases one of the most important surviving collections of his work, and includes drawings, paintings, miniatures and book illustrations.
As well as viewing the exhibition, you will be offered a chance to take part in a drama session with Dawn Purkiss – after an introductory talk, with refreshments, participants will be guided through a simple Tudor dance.
