WHAT CAN I SHARE WITH YOU TODAY?
QUIZ NIGHT – FRIDAY 12th, 5:30pm
Friday, 12th of March, 5.30 PM on Zoom
From Keeley: Hi everyone, I hope you are doing well.
National Intergenerational Week is an online campaign connecting those passionate about intergenerational activity and inspiration across the UK. The campaign is all about celebrating those ideas, moments and opportunities local to us where different age groups come together and intergenerational friendships are made!
Opportunities for generations to connect will become even more important as we emerge from the current pandemic. John and I would like to invite you to a Quiz next Friday with the After School Club.
Please feel free to join us, the session will be at 5.30 pm and is likely to be an hour long.
All the best,
Keeley
ZOOM TALK WITH CHRIS BARLOW; SATURDAY 13th March, 11:00
From Chris Barlow:
Join me on Zoom, as I share with you “Part Two of “Building London” On Saturday 13th March.
I look at how after the devastation of The Great Fire of London in 1666 the resilience of this great city helped to build a thriving metropolis connected through sea power to the rest of the then known world.
London has always been open to new ideas and peoples from around the world and this dynamic outward looking approach is what has forged the amazing place that we live in to this day.
This period also saw the rise of the “Architect” from Christopher Wren to Sir Charles Barry who designed the The Houses of Parliament.
QUEENS GALLERY – CLASH OF THE OLD MASTERS, Wednesday 17 March, 2pm
Wednesday, 17th of March, 2 PM on Zoom.
Titian vs Paulus Potter
This week pits the lofty ideals of the Italian Renaissance against the realism of the Dutch Golden Age. Will the subtle allegory and loveable nature of Potter’s Dutch genre paintings triumph over the grand and ennobling paintings of Titian and Renaissance Italy?
Our speakers explore the contrasting but equally enchanting styles of these two Old Masters.
TALK BY STUART SWEENEY;
The Gambia – Hopes for the Future? 11am – 12.30pm Tuesday, 23rd
Tuesday 23rd of March, 11 AM – 12.30 PM
