Bill Forsyth’s beloved comedy turns 40!

Texan oil executive Mac (Peter Reigert) is dispatched by his boss Felix Happer (Burt Lancaster) to the village of Furness on the west coast of Scotland, with orders to buy out the town – and its people – for the development of a refinery. Tea Dance

Saturday 27th May – 13:00 – 15:30
Come along with your dancing shoes and join Edurne as she leads our next Tea Dance. A mixture of a dance workshop and social dancing, with tunes from the 60’s. 70’s, 80’s and beyond.

1. ‘Enter Amount’ – The cost is 3.00 (without the ‘£’ symbol) – you will get a receipt and I will get a notification of payment (refreshments included).

A game of whist

Monday 26th May, 2:00pm – 4:00pm

A Dragon Hall member has suggested we bring to 7 Dials a Whist Drive. Subject to demand we will hold the first of hopefully a number on 26th June. As this is a new event, we will attempt a full card of 24 hands with a short break for refreshments.

A reasonable understanding of the game is required as sadly there will be no room for any tuition.
This is a game of 4 players with two pairs. A basic rule of the game requires the pairs to change after each game with some movement of players from table to table. This will be done to a lesser extent than at a Whist Drive. As a consequence, you must be prepared to partner any player in room during the session.
