Tuesday 27th April 2021
Hello Everyone,
How was your weekend? I hope you all managed to get out in the sun and soak up some Vitamin D! I went for a lovely walk with a friend and her Son who is 1 and just starting to wobble about. Somehow I managed to burn only one of my arms so I’m looking rather interesting at the moment!
This week, I’ve got lots to share with you…I hope you enjoy.
Leah 😊
WHAT CAN I SHARE WITH YOU TODAY?
46th ANNUAL COVENT GARDEN MAY FAYRE & PUPPET FESTIVAL – ONLINE
Celebrating Mr Punch’s 359th Anniversary
SUNDAY 9 MAY 2021
Once again the Annual Covent Garden May Fayre & Puppet Festival cannot take place as a live event due to the current coronavirus pandemic restrictions and so we will be celebrating online.
Punch & Judy Professors and Puppeteers from across the country normally gather to perform in the garden of St Paul’s Church in Covent Garden on the second Sunday in May. This highly enjoyable historic occasion is always so popular that there will be a SPECIAL ONLINE FESTIVAL on SUNDAY MAY 9. The very day upon which Samuel Pepys made the first recorded sighting of Mr Punch in Covent Garden in his famous Diary of 1662.
The Punch & Judy Fellowship and The Punch & Judy Club are creating the Special Online Festival Celebrations with shows, stories, exhibitions and interviews which may be viewed free on:
Sunday 9 May at:
https://www.facebook.com/MayFayreOnline from 2pm
and
https://www.facebook.com/punchandjudypage from 10am
There are also videos of previous May Fayres if you search on Google for ‘Punch and Judy Covent Garden Videos Online’
With best wishes from Maggie Pinhorn and Amy Dyke-Coomes – on behalf of The May Fayre Committee
