Thank you to everyone who has forwarded their wonderful support and comments to me regarding the Food Bank Project organised by Covent Garden Community Centre / 7 Dials Club. It is really gratifying to hear that so many people are benefiting from the service:

Foodbank – We are flexible with regards to who we can help. If you fit the following criteria, please register.

  • Self Isolation due to symptoms
  • Isolation due to vulnerable or shielded status
  • Income reduction because of lockdown & crisis measures
  • Income reduction while waiting for benefits to arrive
  • Homeless

Online Shopping availability. Supermarkets are advising people to shop in stores where possible to ease pressure on deliveries to those that can’t – but that’s not always possible. 

  • Asda – slots released 14 days ahead – No official policy on when slots will be released,but 10pm and again just after midnight have proved most successful for customers so far.

  • Co-op – slots released 5 days ahead – Around midnight.

King Lear Prizes.
The new national creative arts competition for older people stuck at home because of Coronavirus. They have launched the King Lear Prizes to encourage amateurs and beginners to have a project to get stuck into, and to create new works of literature, poetry, music, drama and art during the time they are quarantined.

We are a community theatre company called Persona Collective and are looking for beginners and amateur actors, dancers and performers to help CO-CREATE and PERFORM our next production.
The show will be a unique, immersive theatre piece featuring acting, dance, live music, sound and lighting, where the audience is led through the beautiful and labyrinthine spaces of the iconic OLD CENTRAL SAINT MARTINS BUILDING on Southampton Row. Note meanwhile lockdown and Covid-19 regulations, our workshops have been set up in a CREATIVE workspace ONLINE. Our Artistic Director will guide you through it. We are looking for a DIVERSE and INTERGENERATIONAL cast that represents Camden’s various communities and particularly welcome those over 50.
