West End Women’s Institute meet Tech!
WI technology discovery event
One of our missions here at Dragon Hall is to bring the latest technology to everyone! We all need to see what is coming down the line to us in the future and wonder at how we can get involved in it all!
On Wednesday 20th May, 3 members of our youth and Tech team went to The West End Women’s Institute in Holborn to show off the work we are currently involved in and to have a mini tech discovery session.
The session started off by outlining the great work we do at Dragon Hall including in our After School Clubs, Youth clubs, activities for over 50’s and finally all the different tech clubs we run – like our code club, our 3D printing sessions and Minecraft.
We received great feedback on the community work and answered loads of questions!
After our talk we got everyone up and having a go on the different tech equipment we brought with us. We had Oculus Rift (virtual reality headset), google cardboard (virtual reality cardboard goggles that work with your smart phone) and an Ultimaker 2, 3D printer.
The WI members were really interested in how to design on a 3d printer which we covered briefly and agreed it would be great to go back and have another in depth session.
Thanks to all at the WI and we are very pleased that you enjoyed the evening!
